Le-gasp!

I'm updating? Quick, knit Satan a sweater, Hell's freezing over!

Anywho, yah. I am now so desperately attempting to avoid studying that I'm finding any excuse not to. On the upside, my bathroom now sparkles, my closet is neatly organized, and I've checked out possibilities of other apartments in my building.

Oh, yes, speaking of apartment-- shall I update you on this latest drama? Well, so, yes. Amber tells me that she's moving (not that she'd like to, not that she was thinking about it, she is moving in with her friends, and that's that), and, oh, by the way, could she keep the apartment that Dad and I found because she's got a lot of bulky furniture, and her Dad won't be able to help her move it this time? Well... Okay... I was very genial and very calm when we first talked about it. Now, I'm still not angry-- more saddened that I wasn't up-to-par on the friend/roomie status. I guess I shouldn't take it personally-- honestly, we're headed in two different directions, and we've grown into completely different people with completely different priorities. And I am happy that she found friends that she wants to room with. Dad just about flipped when he heard Amber wanted to keep the apartment (since he and I did all the footwork to find it, and secure it), but, honestly, Amber was very nice about it. She didn't want to inconvenience me, or bring me any hard feelings-- she actually suggested we could flip for it, to be completely fair.

So, anyway, today I talked with the accountant of the building (who's here on Saturdays to show apartments) to check out availability for studios and other 2-bedrooms (since it turns out my physics-friend, Jayme, and her beau were looking to move out, but find another roomie). Turns out a studio's opening up end of Feb/early March, and that they go *really* fast, and hardly ever open. (As Christine put it, "People hold onto their studios.") So...

Option A) I switch my lease from this unit to the studio, and move in early March. Problems: First, it would have to be okay for me to switch my lease. Then, Amber's roomies would have to be ready to move in by March. Likelihood: Not very likely.

Option B) I flip Amber for this apartment, and if I win, Jayme and Joe take her room, and she finds another apartment with her girls. Problem: Winning the coin toss. Likelihood: 50/50.

Option C) Jayme and Joe were looking at apartments that were a little farther away (like Brentwood, about a 5-10 minute drive), and that Joe would get a carpool parking spot and he'd drive us to school. The plus is that we'd probably be paying much less for rent. Problems: I don't know if I want to move in with Jayme. I love her dearly as a friend, but I've never had a good roomie situation... And I'd hate for our friendship to kinda fizzle like with Amber. I also don't know if I want to be reliant on Joe for my to-school transportation. Likelihood: Mmm... Somewhat likely.

Option D) God has something else planned, which will reveal itself to me in the next few months, and I'll end up exactly where He wants me to be. Problems: Eh, none, 'cept I worry until it happens. n__n;; Likelihood: Well... I don't know. Depends if one of my other options is what God has planned. If not-- then this'll be the most likely.

So, yes. In other news, midterms in two days. I feel somewhat prepared for LS, and I'm surprisingly calm about physics. No calculators, which is slightly freaky. But, all that really matters is how we set up the question. And I can draw free-body diagrams in my sleep now. I haven't touched chemistry all week, and that midterm is the week after this next one. I'll cross that bridge when we get there. Oh, also checked out a pretty neat Fellowship/Bible study last night. 'Grace on Campus'. I think the Pastor took lessons in dramatic speaking, but other than that, pretty solid. At least a half-dozen people came up and talked to me, asking where I was from, my major, the basics. I have a feeling other people would have, if they hadn't seen me chatting. It's a rather large group-- filled up a lecture hall, with few seats to spare. Worship was right-on, and they really dug into the meat-n-potatoes during the Bible Study. Overall, I like quite much. Reminded me of Reality. I'll probably be going next week. Heh, actually, I liked it well enough that I bought one of their long-sleeved T-shirts ($8, pretty good deal) because I missed the collection plate and wanted to chip in.

So, yes... Ah, well, best get back to studying. ;p

I can't wait to draw again!
