Well, looks like I'm going to be treated to one heck of a sunset tonight. There are these beautifull, gorgeous storm-looking clouds that just suddenly appeared! The way they gather and stretch, it really reminds me of the underside of the ocean. n.n That's all nice and comforting.

In any case, it's nice to get a break from the heat. My room is the only room in the apartment that gets so blazingly hot and stuffy-- even though I have my windows open! I think it's a combination of 1) My computer is almost always on, since I'm almost always trying to download something, and 2) My room is the only one that gets directly hit by the afternoon sun. I don't quite know why I'm left out from the nice breeze that flows through the rest of the apartment-- I guess my windows are situated just so that I don't get any but the strongest gusts. ;p

In any case, definetely some politikin' going on at the museum-- and I hope I haven't inadvertently been thrown straight into it! Seems Howell's willing to assign anyone but me to help Eddie with his projects. Maybe because Eddie kind of inadvertantly 'claimed' me as his assistant, since he was the only one I'd worked with until I got started on this regular schedule? In any case, I after I finished that monster of a camel's jaw yesterday they decided to throw two more vertebrae (probably not from the same animal, but definetely from the same location) my way... This time I got to clean all the surrounding dirt (ie, matrix) from around the bone... And watch it magically crumble before my fingertips! The bone just disintegrated before my eyes. Even happened to Howell a couple times! So, today was spent finishing up the cleaning and starting on the glueing. Gaaaaaaaah. Ah, well. It's still fun, just a bit more agitating than the usual tooling I'm used to. Especially since I'd be in the midst of glueing a large fragment onto the rest of the bone, said large fragment would decide it wanted to be several smaller fragments. Oy.

In any case, cut out an hour after lunch to go down and draw. Figured I can only spend about an hour before my back starts hurting, as there's not good place to prop myself. So, now I'll probably alternate-- one day I'll stay in the lab 'till about 3:30-4-ish, and the other day I'll cut out about 2, and go down and draw. It'll be nice to get my drawing skills back up. Especially since Howell seemed interested in an art trade. What would we trade, you ask? Well, apparently he's picked up a new hobby-- carving sculptures out of surfboards. He brought in his newest peice-- a rather decent looking Humpback, carved out of the nose-part of the board. Apparently his first peice was a Narwhal. So, during the usual lunchtime banter (and I've got it! It's like a mix between Twister and Mark and Brian!) I mentioned that I'd like to see him do my favorite-- Orcas. He promptly asked how much I'd pay for it. I answered that I'd pay him with a peice of my own. That piqued his curiousity immediately, and asked me several questions about my drawings. He even asked if he'd be allowed to use my drawing-to-be on a T-shirt! I laughed and said we'd have to argue about royalties. n.n

In any case, Doyle came back today, after a long absence. From what I gathered, he'd been working on an art project with another artist-- a paid one. From the sculpting I've seen him do, and the fact that he's doing the art program over at USC (insert much hissing and growling), I don't doubt he'd be good at such paid commissions. As I left it looked like he, Chiappe, and Howell were haggling over another piece. I'd like to see how he works...

Bah, looks like my beautifull sunset has been foiled. Doesn't look like there'll be enough openings in the sky for the light to come through. Ah, well. Still pretty clouds.

In other words, I'm going insane from boredom. Lots of little projects to do, but nothing really satisfying... And it's too late in the summer to go job-hunting, which is what I'd really like to do. The poor people who'd hire me would probably just finish up my training before I'd have to head out! Apparently the FBQ is going to be quite intense, and we've all been cautioned to not even have any clubs to worry about, let alone jobs and other such time-consuming requirements.

Bah. In any case, off to go scowl at Kazaa (and my damnably slow downloads-- that is, if they stay connected long enough to download... Sheesh..) and work on my newest idea-- bookmarks! n.n

And Skkye did witness a beautifull sunset, and a beautifull sunset was seen by all.

And then Skkye did download mIRC, and did voyage and journey through many strange, strange chatrooms, until she did find #itp on Zirc, and found many other InuYasha fans, and it was good, and a good time was had by all.
