So why not me?

The Rules:
1. Leave me a comment saying you want me to hit you with the ol' five questions.
2. I will respond by asking you said five questions, which may be of a HIGHLY INTIMATE nature. Or, not.
3. You update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

1. You are a superhero. What are your superpowers and how did you get them?
Mmm... I'm going to have to go transformation into anything with a biological base. I was always a fan of specially-reincarnated from another plane/age, a la Please Save My Earth.

2. You woke up this morning before everyone else because Kali was staring intently at you. She led you to the front door and sat before it until you opened it. Kali must like you because she didn't want anyone else to have this but you! What did you find?
A tiny little kitten, mewling piteously on the front step, waiting to be adopted and loved. n__n

3. Have you been on a dig before and if so, what's the most exciting thing you've found?
I've not been on a real dig before, but there've been two times that were kind of close. The first was on a field trip to Bakersfield (gag) to Shark Tooth Mountain for a class I was taking. Long story short, the field trip went terribly, horribly wrong (our guide totally flaked and forgot to show up-- that's the BLM for you) and we ended up driving around aimlessly on some dude's cattle ranch. The dude actually showed up while we were lunch-breaking, and told us that a professor from a local college used to dig just around the corner, and gave us permission to go back and try our hands at it. We spent about two hours crawling around on a dusty/rocky hillside-- I found two shark's teeth and some fragments of mammal bones. One tooth went to my Dad, the other went to [livejournal.com profile] khylov, and some of the best fragments went to [livejournal.com profile] zhai as a 'look how nerdy I am!' wedding gift. ;)*puu The other time I actually got to go down into Pit 91, the only active site of excavation in the whole Rancho La Brea fossil laggerstaten. It was awesome-- they had a sloth pelvis, a Smilodon skull, and a whole bunch of dire wolf parts sticking up, just waiting to be excavated. The asphalt fumes gave me a major headache, though.

4. What are your favorite kinds of puzzles?
Mmm... I like all kinds. Preferably things that require the establishment of patterns. My least favorite are riddles. They drive me nuts.

5. New Zealand as vacation spot. Discuss.
Oh. Hell. Yeah. There are so many awesome things there! I'd love to see the scenery, go hiking... I'd love to see some of the native wildlife-- particularly kiwis and keas. I'd also like to go hit their museums-- I met a researcher, Dr. Ewan Fordyce, at a paleo meeting.. he's the cutest little man, I'd love to stop by and have lunch with him. n__n

1) Name something you "obsess" about and explain how you rationalize it.
Not sure how you meant it.. I think you meant towards a tangible thing, but the first thing that pops into my head is 'worry'. I worry like nobody's business, I do. I guess my justification is if I worry about something, I can potentially come up with some way of deflecting or dealing with whatever situation I'm worried about. Though I'm really trying to change this-- my Mom (really, Mom's entire family) is just like this, and they're only just starting to deal. I feel good, tackling this at 23.

2) An easy one: Name one thing you possess that would make you blush to admit.
I'm so torn between just being specific and blushing myself off my chair at the mere thought... So I'll compromise. *cough-blush*somethingfromnightdreams*cough-blush* Now, what's something I'd like that would make me blush to admit? A collar like [livejournal.com profile] nalroth's, sans spikes.

3) You seem like an ambitious person. In your list of accomplishments (past or future) which one is the most important to you?
Huh. I've never really thought of myself as ambitious-- I like having goals and working towards them, but I've never been particularly driven, I don't think. And most of my goals were always school oriented-- like doing well, getting the highest grades, graduating. I'm tempted to say my greatest accomplishment is graduating Magna cum Laude with highest departmental honors from UCLA... but, when I think about it, I think surviving the past 8-10 months as well as I did might be more truthful.

4) Tell me something you feel extremely passionate about, that is not an ambition.
Life-- in the natural sense. I love learning about the animals and plants that exist all around us-- what they do, how they're bound to each other... I try [livejournal.com profile] nalroth's patience every time we go on a walk and I see a bug I've never seen, or a plant. God help him if it's a vertebrate, and I'm especially hopeless if there's a stream around. I'm very passionate about learning about it, and almost as passionate as protecting it-- though I haven't really done anything directly to help. :<

5)If you were to ponder getting a tattoo, what would be some of the designs you'd consider?
I've actually always wanted a tattoo-- I just never really knew what I'd want on my body permanently. If I was to get something right now, it'd probably be a butterfly... I love this design, though I doubt that would translate well into ink. I'm actually tempted (once I have enough money to put towards a tattoo) to put up a post asking for suggestions and advice. In addition to that, I've always been fascinated by tribal and celtic designs. As for where... I've always liked the idea of one on my lower back, but after being told of the 'Tramp Stamp' stigma, I'm now thinking something on the upper back-- near the shoulders or the base of the neck.
